Excellent facilities to help you feel at home
Forest Oaks has a range of facilities including lounges, the dining room, a sun lounge and a hobbies room. We have a relaxing, warm and cosy lounge with aquarium, wide screen television and piano. This room is ideal for both informal gatherings over tea and coffee or for organised entertainment such as singers, choirs and outside speakers. The room has recently been fully refurbished. The widescreen television is often used for film afternoons or evenings.
The sun lounge is a popular area for socialising and is where our pre-lunch sherry is served and afternoon tea and coffee. The sun lounge overlooks the main lawn and is a bright, warm and cheerful place to sit with friends and visitors.
Our dining room is used primarily for serving breakfast, lunch and supper for residents who wish to dine together. Meals can be served in resident rooms if preferred. The dining room is also used from time to time for themed lunch events, celebrations and activities such as quizzes and team games.
We have a fully equipped hair salon and beauty room. Residents may book an appointment with our hairdresser or may choose to bring their own hairdresser to the home.
Our newly refurbished hobbies room is a great area for arts and crafts, flower arranging and other practical activities. However it is also used for meeting with friends and family and small group dining.
The library and reminiscence room is available for residents to use as they wish and books can be borrowed at any time.
A new addition to the home is our new spiritual room which is a quiet, peaceful room for use by residents or their families. It is ideal for quiet reflection, meditation and prayer.
All private rooms are bright with a pleasing garden view. All rooms are en-suite with additional fully accessible adapted baths and shower rooms available on each floor. There is a telephone and internet access point in each room. We encourage residents to bring with them small pieces of furniture and personal items to make the rooms feel more like home.
House keeping, laundry and catering staff provide a full service. Drinks and snacks are available 24 hours a day.
Kitchenettes on each floor are available for individuals who are independent and their families, each kitchenette has a kettle, tea making facilities, toaster, microwave and fridge.
Communion is held each month at the home making it convenient for residents to attend if they wish.
The grounds at Forest Oaks are of particular benefit to residents as they provide a safe level area to walk and the various seating areas provide relaxing outside space for entertaining visitors or for some quiet meditation.
There is parking available at Forest Oaks for residents if they still wish to drive and for family visiting.
